Henry MAY, b. c1784 (1779) in Rockingham Co., VA

In the 1880 census record of Henry May Jr, son of Henry May Sr, and grandson of our original George May says that his father, Henry May Sr, was born in Ireland.

Married June 25, 1798 to Catherine “Caty” (Sydes) Snyder, daughter of Christian Sydes.  Died before 1823.
Married Sept 26, 1823 to Polly Shackleford (widow of Christopher Shackelford)

Lived Turleytown Rd,  North Mt. Road,  Broadway, VA, Brocks Gap, VA, Harrisonburg, VA, and Mt. Clinton, VA.  (Moved around a lot).  

Children:

1. Hanna May, born 1798 (married June 5, 1821 to Peter Whetzel)
2. Henry May, Jr. born Dec 17, 1799.  Died July 24, 1884 (married Mar 24, 1828 to Elizabeth Greenwood, daughter of Henry Greenwood) died before 1884.
3. daughter, born 1804
4. daughter, born 1806
5. Aaron born Jan 7, 1812, died April 30, 1859 (married Sarah Feaster)
